If you suspect the sprag, I believe you can eliminate that possibility
by pulling the front driveshaft and see if the problem disapears.
Grinding sounds while turning sounds more like a differential problem.
I'd jack up your truck and spin each wheel just to make sure you aren't
losing a wheel bearing also.
