[MV] Split Rim DANGERS

I remember picking up the pieces of a young trooper in Vietnam while I
was serving there in '69 who had the misfortune to be sitting on top a 2
1/2 ton wheel when the split rim decided to depart company with the
remainder of the wheel. The force of the explosion threw the guy almost
30 feet into the air and broke his back! Split rims need to be
respected!

The process we used in the field was to pull a 2 1/2 on top of the wheel
prior to starting the inflation of the tire. Besides the deuce provided
the air needed to inflate the tire. This method was only used when we
ran out of spare tires and had to perform repairs or run without wheels.

In the rear area we used cages that still could result in injuries if
the wheel blew, but would not generally result in death of the inflator.
I have seen a cage that had a tire that blew and it did some damage to
the cage but not guy, but it did scare him a bit.
