I recently saw an article on silicone vs the std brake fluid. It stated that
ALL brake boosters suck-up a little brake fluid from time to tine and that
silicone will do a job on the cylinder walls as it turns back into silica under
heat/fire.

This would mean all larger than 3/4 ton WW2 vehicles should not use it.

It would NOT apply to trucks with air-packs like the M35/M211 trucks
